Agreement to Terms
By booking a consultation or using any service offered through holdback.ca, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them before booking. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable laws of Canada.
About the Service
Holdback provides independent automotive advisory consultations to vehicle buyers in Ontario. Sessions are conducted remotely via video call (Zoom or Google Meet).
The advisor is OMVIC-certified and licensed in Ontario automotive sales. Holdback operates independently and has no financial relationship with any dealership, manufacturer, lender, or automotive retail organization.
Services include:
- Scan — a focused review of a specific dealer offer, quote, or finance package
- Blueprint — a complete advisory session covering vehicle cost analysis, negotiation strategy, lease vs. finance, trade-in, and finance office preparation
- Command — end-to-end advisory from vehicle selection through delivery, including live deal review and contract check
Nature of the Advice
Holdback provides automotive advisory services only. Nothing communicated in a consultation constitutes:
- Legal advice
- Financial planning or investment advice
- Accounting or tax advice
- Mechanical inspection or vehicle condition assessment
Consultation content is informational and based on the advisor's knowledge of automotive retail practices and current market conditions. Outcome results will vary depending on the specific vehicle, dealer, market conditions, and decisions made by the client. Holdback does not guarantee any specific savings, deal outcome, or dealer response.
Booking and Payment
Consultations are confirmed upon receipt of full payment at the time of booking. Payment is processed through Stripe. All prices are shown in Canadian dollars and are subject to Ontario HST (13%), which is applied at checkout.
Pricing at time of booking:
- Scan: $147 CAD + HST
- Blueprint: $297 CAD + HST
- Command: $497 CAD + HST
Prices are subject to change. The price shown at the time of booking applies to that session.
Cancellation and Rescheduling
The following policy applies to all booked sessions:
- Cancellation with 24 or more hours' notice: Full refund issued within 5 business days.
- Cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice: One free reschedule offered. No refund on the original session.
- No-show (client does not attend without notice): Session fee is forfeited.
- Advisor cancellation: If Holdback cancels a booked session, a full refund will be issued or the session rescheduled at your preference.

Client Responsibilities
To receive full value from a consultation, clients are expected to:
- Complete the getting started form accurately and in advance of the session
- Attend the session at the scheduled time via the provided video link
- Provide accurate information about their vehicle, budget, and purchase situation
Holdback is not responsible for outcomes resulting from inaccurate information provided by the client or decisions made contrary to the session's recommendations.
Confidentiality
Session content, deal details, and personal information shared during a consultation are treated as confidential. This information is not shared with dealerships, manufacturers, or any third party. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Clients agree not to share session materials, written summaries, or negotiation briefs publicly in a manner that could misrepresent the service or harm Holdback's reputation.
Intellectual Property
Written summaries, negotiation briefs, checklists, and other materials produced by Holdback are for the client's personal use only. They may not be resold, redistributed, or reproduced for commercial purposes without written permission.
Limitation of Liability
Holdback's liability to any client is limited to the fee paid for the session in question. Holdback is not liable for:
- Decisions made by the client based on or contrary to session content
- Dealer behaviour, offer changes, or market fluctuations after the session
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of this service
This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted under Ontario law.
OMVIC Compliance
Holdback operates in compliance with OMVIC (Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council) registration requirements applicable to automotive advisors. These terms do not limit any rights you may have under Ontario consumer protection legislation.
Changes to These Terms
These Terms of Service may be updated periodically. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Sessions booked before an update are governed by the terms in effect at the time of booking.
